Call for Student Paper and Poster Proposals
Alpha Iota Sigma Honor Society, is seeking student proposals for the 39th Annual Association for Interdisciplinary Studies Conference being held October 19th – 21st ; hosted by University of Marlyand, Baltimore County.
Undergraduate students are invited to propose research papers or posters related to the conference theme “Beyond Talking Heads”, Interdisciplinary Public Problems, the Global Community, and Diversity, or other related topics.
The mission of Alpha Iota Sigma is to recognize the academic scholarship and achievements of interdisciplinary students. As an international honor society, Alpha Iota Sigma promotes the benefits of interdisciplinary work; provides a forum to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty, and local community members; investigates and encourages methods of interdisciplinary learning; enhances understanding and application of interdisciplinary knowledge among the general public; creates a sense of community among interdisciplinary students and graduates of interdisciplinary programs.
Awards will be granted for winning submissions: $100 for the first place paper and $50 for the first place poster.
Proposal Submission Instructions
Submitted as a Word document no more than 20 pages in length. Submission should include a cover page with student’s name, institution, email address, and title of paper. Paper submissions are due by May 15th and should be submitted by email to email@example.com
Poster submissions should be completed through the conference website. Please go to http://ais2017.umbc.edu/call-for-proposals/, click on Submit Proposal, enter your information, choose Poster as the type of proposal. Additionally, in a Word document, include the title of the poster, authors name, email address, 150-250 word abstract detailing your poster, and your institutional affiliation and send to firstname.lastname@example.org. Poster submissions are due by April 15th.
